Ladies Rock Camp Boston

Ladies Rock Camp Boston (LRCB) is an intensive 3-day-weekend program that is redefining the term lady by creating an environment that is the antithesis of what we have been told it means to be behave as one. Find your inner rock god/goddess by fighting the status quo and becoming part of a rock n roll band of revolutionaries and supporting GRCB’s year round youth programming!!

Sign up for Ladies Rock Camp Boston 2019:

Session 1: March 1-3, 2019

Session 2: April 5-7, 2019

Please Note: We are currently full for both of our 2019 sessions of Ladies Rock Camp Boston. If you fill out the application, you will be placed on the waiting list.

What is LRCB all about?

Programming for LRCB is similar to what youth do during our summer program: receive instrument instruction, form a band, and work together to write an original song and perform your song LIVE – in just three days! In addition, you will have the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops with topics related to being an empowered rocker.

All proceeds from LRCB go directly to helping Girls Rock Campaign Boston (GRCB) continue to provide scholarships for all families who need assistance.

When are the next sessions of LRCB?

Our next sessions of Ladies Rock Camp Boston will take place March 1-3  & April 5-7 2019.

Who can apply for LRCB?

LRCB is for any woman, trans or gender non-conforming adult age 21 and over, who wants to rock out while supporting GRCB!  There is absolutely no musical experience necessary and we will provide all instruments for all who attend. While our programming is guided by the experiences of girls and women, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment that supports and welcomes a wide range of marginalized gender identities and expressions. We welcome women, trans, and gender nonconforming participants.

How much is tuition for LRCB?

Tuition for LRC will be on a sliding scale ($275 – $500) based on how much you are able to contribute to Girls Rock Campaign Boston.

Tuition has been set at the absolute lowest amount possible for us to cover our costs and meet expected financial goals for our programs. We are unable to offer a reduced fee for early registration, or other reduced tuition options this year. If you can give more than the tuition, GRCB will enthusiastically accept your donation!

I was waitlisted in 2018, do I get priority for 2019 LRCB sessions?

Yes. Due to an overwhelmingly positive response to our programming, and commitment to accommodate new participants, this year we will be offering a priority period to those who were wait-listed for 2018 programming. If you applied in 2018 but were wait-listed due to lack of space, you will be given priority if we receive your completed application on November 1, 2018. Please be sure to indicate this status in you application.

What workshops are offered at LRCB?

Workshops rotate each year but we offer a variety of music, confidence building, and social justice focused workshops. Past workshops have included Combatting Relational Aggression, Pedals & Alternative Sounds, Intersectional Feminism, Screen Printing, Songwriting, Women in Rock History and Intro to Beat Making.

What is the time commitment for LRCB?

LRC is an intensive three day, all day, rock camp. Please check out the sample schedule below to be sure you will be able to commit to the full weekend.

Is LRCB an overnight program?
No! Friday and Saturday nights end at 10:30PM and there are no over night accommodations. If you need a place to stay while attending LRCB, we can try to help you find a host but cannot guarantee that someone will be available to host you.
